HOWARD J. SCHUSS, AIA, PRESIDENT

Howard Schuss is a native of New York and received a Bachelor of Architeture from the University of Illinois. He spent 2 ½ years serving as a Peace Corps Architect in the Marshall Islands, building schools, dispensaries, religious
facilities, housing and water systems. He earned his California architectural registration in 1980.

Howard is involved in the firm’s operations, management, design and client relations.

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council f Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

His community involvement includes serving on the Rancho Bernardo, California Planning board for ten years and as chairman of the Development Review Committee, reviewing designs for most new projects proposed to be constructed in Ranch Bernardo.

With his wife, Elena, three children, Howard has lived in San Diego since 1977. His hobbies and interests include family activities, hiking, camping,and physical fitness.

RICK D. CLARK, AIA, VICE PRESIDENT

Rick Clark is a native of Iowa and received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma. He spent four years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps, including two tours in Vietnam with the SEABEES. He became registered to practice architecture in California in 1976.

Rick is involved in the firm’s marketing, planning, design and client relations.

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Rick has been involved in community activities throughout his career. He has served as president of TIPS Club of San Diego, Center City Optimist Club, Christmas in April * San Diego, and La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club and has been a member of the board of the North County Division of the Building Industry.

He and his wife, Nilsa, have one son. His hobbies and interests include drawing, light construction and carpentry, photography, video production and domestic and foreign family travels.

JEFF S. BRANDON, AIA, PRINCIPAL

Jeff Brandon is a native of Southern California. Since 1986, he has acquired extensive experience in residential and commercial architecture. He became licensed to practice architecture in 2001 and is member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He served as a panelist for various software and network discussion and user groups.

Jeff joined Schuss-Clark in February 1993 as the CAD manager and was brought into the firm to blend technology and architecture. Jeff is lso responsible for keeping the firm’s internal IT systems on the leading edge with today’s the latest hardware and software. He has extensive experience in CAD management, software implementation, networking, and information technology. He designed and authored the CAD standards manual and menu system for one of our larger corporate clients. He has been Project Architect for several clients.

His hobbies and interests include physical fitness, outrigger canoeing, motorcycling, and traveling.
